Tea on Tuesday – The “Eyes” Have It…..

Cold, cold, cold here in The Gap….

So, I am sipping some Lady Grey, in my thrift store Denby pottery mug.  This is my mug rug, one of several I made for an online swap last year. I am working on a few more for belated Christmas gifts – sssshhhh…..!!!

This one was made of batik scraps, just sewn together willy nilly, with a blue autumnal leaf fabric I dug out of my stash. I use this mug rug (and the others received in the swap), more than I thought I would – perfect size!!!

At a loss for subject matter for this Tuesday’s tea – I thought I would just share some random donkey photos- totally unrelated to tea- but…….

I was trying to get a really good photo of Finnegan’s blue eyes- but donkeys can be notoriously UNcooperative- and as you can see by my attempts- the little trickster was true to form!!! And, always very curious about that clicking camera thing!!!!

Soon, they got bored with the photo shoot, and went looking for trouble – the hose is always a good play toy!!!

Tea on Tuesday

I sit here,  sipping today’s tea,  sent to me from mi amiga, Teresa, from one of her many sojourns to France- -Fauchon Paris, a “tea for two” –fruit rouges et miel (red fruits and honey). Of course, my teacup is loaded down with local honey- I enjoy a little tea WITH my honey!!!

Gazing out the window, at the fog – another un-December-like day, and a week before Christmas.

The world seems to have taken on another hue.

The fog here covers a multitude of sins in the world…….or does it?

The chores of the day remain the same as every day, but the air we breath is a bit tainted, by sadness, the news bombarding us over the airwaves, and the grim reality of the world.

But, the donkeys still greet me with their squeaky voices- happy that breakfast is arriving, along with hugs and nuzzles. The dogs are ecstatic that they are going to the barn to eat poop and check out the scents of who visited/trespassed during the night!

I must get to the PO today, to mail a stack of our traditional anise flavored pizzelles to the son in San Francisco.

Then, finally, back to the basement studio, to sew up a couple of pillowcases for some children in Connecticut- to be filled with sweet dreams.

Made with love, and sewn with thread that hopefully, will magically ward off the nightmares that come to children in the dark of night.  Each of my pillowcases will have a tiny heart hidden inside, to let them know they are loved, by persons unknown.
